Nebraska Public Transit has the pivotal role of fostering community connectivity across the state for all Nebraskans.

The lack of public transit would deny many Nebraskans access to essential medical care, education, employment opportunities, and freedom of mobility in their day-to-day lives.

Governor Pillen has proclaimed April 21-27, 2024, as Nebraska Public Transit Week, with local agencies preparing for events and activities.

At Tri-City Roadrunner, Scotts Bluff County Transit Manager Curt Richter says there are a variety of activities this week in celebration:

  • Monday – Passenger Appreciation & Earth Day- All rides are free; Giveaways available for passengers; flashlights, multi-tools, tote bags, sticker sheets.
  • Tuesday – Buddy Day; Two riders for the price of one or pay one way for a round trip if alone.
  • Wednesday – Veterans Appreciation-Veterans ride free (DD-214, Active/ Veteran/VA ID, Driver’s License/ID with “Veteran” designation required)
  • Thursday –Staff Appreciation Day; Transit Manager will provide lunch in the office for all staff.
