By popular demand, the Summer Sun, Food & Fun Day Camp, a partnership between the Scottsbluff Family YMCA and Gering Public Schools, is back to offer 10 1/2 weeks of full-day summer programming for Gering students.

From May 30th to August 9th, families are invited to enroll their preschool to 5th grade students in this comprehensive summer camp at Lincoln Elementary. The camp will feature a diverse range of activities tailored to age groups, including sports, arts and crafts, outdoor adventures, science experiments, and educational workshops. With a focus on development, participants will have the opportunity to enhance their social skills, creativity, and academic knowledge in a supportive setting.

“We’re thrilled to build on the success of our partnership with the YMCA and last year’s inaugural camp to bring this highly-anticipated program back to the Gering community,” shared Dr. Nicole Regan, Superintendent of Gering Public Schools. “Our goal is to provide children with an unforgettable summer experience that combines learning with fun. We believe that this camp not only keeps children engaged and active during the summer months but also fosters their personal growth and development.”

In addition to the enriching activities, Gering Public Schools is committed to ensuring that all camp participants receive nutritious meals throughout the day; offering breakfast, lunch, and snacks daily.

Registration for the Summer Sun, Food and Fun Day Camp is now open and interested families are encouraged to sign up early to secure their spots. Financial assistance options will be available to ensure that the camp is accessible to families in the community.
