Scottsbluff Police Participate in Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over Campaign
August 21st, 2024 | rmurphy

The Scottsbluff Police Department has been awarded a grant from the Nebraska Department of Transportation Highway Safety Office to participate in the National “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” drunk driving enforcement wave.

Scottsbluff Police Officers will be working overtime from August 14th to September 2nd, 2024. The officers will be looking for all traffic violations with a focus on impaired driving. Scottsbluff Police remind motorists that impairment can come from alcoholic beverages, illegal drugs, and even certain types of prescription medicine.

If you see a vehicle that you suspect is being driven by an impaired driver, please call 911 and report the license plate number, description, and direction of travel. Do not try to pursue any impaired drivers, just make the report.

If you are having a gathering have a plan in place for a designated driver to get impaired driver’s home safely. Being a designated driver means that you can’t drink at all.

Enjoy the Labor Day weekend responsibly.
