Authorities say a 24-year-old Scottsbluff man suffered critical injuries in a collision between his motorcycle and an SUV in Scottsbluff Monday afternoon.

Scottsbluff Police say at approximately 4:30 pm, officers were called to the 700 block of West 27th Street finding an eastbound Yamaha motorcycle driven by O’Ryan Marsh struck a Lexus SUV driven by 89-year-old Burdette Kister of Scottsbluff that was pulling out of the Dairy Queen parking lot to turn onto westbound 27th Street.

Marsh was transported to Regional West medical Center with critical injuries, and the investigation closed 27th Street in the vicinity for hours as officers conducted their investigation, which is on-going.

Sgt. Royce Massie says surveillance video from the area at the time of the accident was received, and Excessive speed on behalf of the motorcycle is believed to be a contributing factor.

Scottsbluff PD was assisted in the investigation by Scottsbluff Fire Department, Valley Ambulance Services, and the Scotts Bluff County Sheriff’s Office.

At the conclusion of the investigation, reports will be forwarded to the Scotts Bluff County Attorney’s Office for review of potential criminal charges.
