Scottsbluff Police Department Concludes ‘Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over’ Campaign

Beginning on August 16th and continuing through September 2nd, 2024, the Scottsbluff Police Department participated in the Nebraska “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” campaign.

Officers worked overtime, funded by the Nebraska Department of Transportation Highway Safety Office. The following are the results of the overtime enforcement period:

  • Speeding citations: 24
  • Insurance citations: 10
  • Registration citations: 40
  • Driving under suspension arrests: 10
  • Provisional operator’s permit violation: 1
  • Misuse of learner’s permit: 3
  • No license on person: 1
  • Traffic light violations: 4
  • Improper U-turn: 1
  • Driving under the influence of alcohol: 4
  • Reckless, careless, or negligent driving: 4
  • No lights: 1
  • Leaving the scene of a traffic crash: 3
  • Failure to yield right-of-way: 4
  • No operator’s license: 6
  • Improper turn: 1
  • Minor in possession: 7
  • Possession of marijuana: 6
  • Possession of other drugs: 6
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia: 11
  • Open container of alcohol: 5
  • No motorcycle license: 1
  • Seat belt violations: 9
  • No bicycle light: 1
  • Passing a school bus with the stop arm extended: 1
  • Window tint violation: 1
  • Obstruction: 2
  • Stop sign violation: 1
  • Improper lane change: 1
  • Fictitious license plate: 1
  • No child safety seat: 2
  • Improper passing: 1

There were 288 warnings issued.
