Scottsbluff opens State Tournament tonight against York

The high school basketball season is down to the final three days. On Wednesday the four day State Championships opened up with a couple of scores of note from around the region.

In C1 it was Sidney falling to Ashland-Greenwood 52-28 while also in C1 Ogallala put it on Central City 67-46.

Today, two more teams take to the floor with Scottsbluff vs. York in Class B and Gordon-Rushville taking on top seed Freeman in C2.

For Scottsbluff they enter as the #3 seed against the #6 seed Dukes. In the district finals it was Scottsbluff winning at home over South Sioux City 57-41 while York knocked off McCook 66-54.

York, 16-6 on the season, is led by Ryan Seevers, who averages 16 points per game. The Dukes have three players that average double figure scoring on the season.

For Scottsbluff the duo of Kellon Harris and Nate Kelley are both averaging 15 points per game on the season.

The other first round games in Class B feature Skutt vs. Bennington at 12:30 MT followed by Elkhorn vs. Crete at 2:15. The night session has Norris taking on Platteview at 5 pm with the Bearcats vs. York in the late game at 6:45 pm MT.

Gordon-Rushville vs. Freeman is the first game of the day at Devaney tipping at 8 am MT.
