A lot of blood, sweat, and tears have gone into the annual spring musical at Scottsbluff High School.

Roald Dahl’s “Matilda, the Musical” will be taking center stage this year, and features lively songs, meticulous choreography, and live music from the pit orchestra.

This year’s show will debut on Thursday, April 4th, with additional shows Friday and Saturday evening at 7 p.m.

Linnea Bliesh, who stars as Matilda, tells KNEB News that a lot of work has gone into the 2024 musical.

“It’s been a really fun show so far to put together,” says Bliesh. “A lot of all the songs are very upbeat and the choreography has been really fun to learn. But I mean, the story itself is about a little girl who loves to read, but her parents are not very supportive in that endeavor. And so she finds other adults in her life like Mrs. Phelps her librarian and then Ms. Honey her teacher, and then falls in love with life again.”

You can buy tickets online at Ronne.com under the musical tab for the Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evening performances.
