Residents in Scottsbluff were forced to deal with the aftermath of Thursday afternoon’s severe weather, which resulted in lots of toppled trees, flash flooding, and downed power lines.

Alex Morales lives near Bluff Street in Scottsbluff, and came home to find his street with police tape cordoning off traffic. A massive tree from his property fell and knocked down a power line.

He says it was surreal to see a relatively calm neighborhood look like a war zone, but was thankful that everyone was safe.

Fairview Cemetery had multiple large trees topple onto headstones, a portion of the BNSF office on Avenue I had its roof tear off, and an entire shop north of Riverview Golf Course was destroyed.

Region 22 Emergency Management Interim Director Ashley Hopkins is asking the public to email pictures and reports of damages so they can get a better scope of the severity across Scotts Bluff and Banner Counties. You can email those to or self-report using this link: https://crisistrack.juvare.com/…/region22NE/request.html
