Scottsbluff boys tennis wins home invite to stay hot to start season

The Scottsbluff boys tennis team now has a combined singles and doubles record of 92-10 on the year after they won their home invite this past Friday, edging out Thunder Basin (WY) for the title 55-51.

Scottsbluff coach Darren Emerick has watched his singles players put together a record of 48-2 while the doubles teams are 44-8.

“Senior and team captain Kian Blomstedt extended his perfect record so far this season to 17-0. Oliver Carpenter picked up just his first loss and is now 16-1. The doubles teams of Matthew Hafner and Joey Escamilla join the team of Thatcher Thomalla and Octavio Espino with just two losses this season.”

Alliance finished fourth in the team standings with Gering one spot back in fifth place.

“We got some wins highlighted by Aidyn McDonald and Kaleb Mack earning a 3rd place medal. We were at a competitive disadvantage as 1 Singles Jaedyn Morales had to withdraw due to illness”, Gering coach Ron Swank said.
