Pine Ridge Ranch evacuated after fire near Fort Laramie

Fire fighters from numerous departments remain on scene after a grass fire northeast of Fort Laramie.

The Fort Laramie Fire Department evacuated the Pine Ridge Ranch Monday afternoon. The department also said they launched two single engine air tankers from the Casper Tanker Base, and they arrived on the fire just after 6 p.m.

Fire officials confirmed to KNEB News that an overnight shift and day shift on Tuesday was already being planned at the fire site. Temperatures on Monday soared to over 100 degrees, and highs were expected to remain in the 90s on Tuesday, with low relative humidities.

Multiple crews have been called in for mutual aid, including Lingle, Torrington, Yoder, Jay Em, La Grange, Prairie Center and Veteran.

The Fort Laramie Fire Department said that local residents who were wanted to donate coolers and ice, it would be appreciated. They asked that they be brought to the Fort Laramie Fire Hall, with a piece of duct tape with the owners name and phone number on them.
