A pair of panhandle standout golfers picked up wins earlier this week at the Nebraska Lions All-Star Golf Tournament in Kearney.
In the girls tournament it was Scottsbluff’s Nielli Heinold taking home top honors with a two day score of 145, winning a scorecard tiebreaker to claim the win. Heinold shot a second day 68.
Mitchell’s Cael Peters won by five shots in the boys division, posting a 73 for his opening round and then a round two 75, to finish at 148 for the tournament.
Golf set to be a big part of the future for both Heinold and Peters.
Heinold has signed to play for the Long Island University (NYC) team while Peters will head to the University of Nebraska to take part in their PGA Golf Management Program.
