One Injured When Trailer Disconnects from Towing Vehicle

Only one injury was reported Friday afternoon when a trailer came loose from a vehicle and hit two others on Five Rocks Road near the intersection with Stable Club Road.

Scottsbluff Police Capt. Lance Kite says upon officer’s arrival shortly before 1:30 p.m., they found that a trailer had come free from a southbound pickup driven by Nicandro Quevedo (26) of Scottslbluff. After the trailer came free from the vehicle, it then struck a northbound 2013 Ford pickup driven by 74-year-old Charles Flint of rural Scottsbluff.l and then a 2007 Ford Fusion, also northbound behind the Flint vehicle, driven by 20-year-old Kaiden Reinmuth of Gering.

Flint reported a cut to his torso and was transported to Regional West Medical Center by private vehicle.

Southbound traffic from South Beltline (W) on Ave I was redirected for approximately one hour.

No citations have been issued at this time, as the case is still under investigation.

The Scottsbluff Police Department was assisted by the Scotts Bluff County Sherriff’s Office, Scottsbluff Fire Department, Valley Ambulance Services, and the Scotts Bluff Rural Fire Department.
