The Carpenter Center Board of Directors is thrilled to announce the appointments of Cameron Perrett as the new Executive Director and Denzel Salazar as the new Program Director for the Terry and Hazeldeane Carpenter Intergenerational Center.

Cameron, a native of Valentine, Nebraska, has a deep understanding of the challenges of providing services in rural Nebraska. Cameron’s previous experience working with the Boys Club in Rapid City, South Dakota gave him the necessary insight regarding the importance of youth programming among children struggling with poverty, among other issues. He states, “The Carpenter Center has a similar impact that affects not only the youth, but the disabled and senior members of our community. This is a hidden gem of the panhandle that has a lot to offer and has the potential to grow even more!” Cameron enjoys outdoor activities with his young son and playing disc golf.

Denzel Salazar, a Scottsbluff native, is the new Program Director for the Carpenter Center. In addition to maintaining the established programs within the Center, he is also responsible for creating innovative programming that meets the needs and interests of community residents. He believes the Carpenter Center has a positive effect on the community and states, “It provides opportunities for everyone especially those of low income, disabled, and seniors by providing them with meals and excellent access to programs through scholarships!” Denzel is married and enjoys outdoor activities with his wife and two children.

These gentlemen, along with the rest of the Carpenter Center team, encourage you to stop in and say hello. Another great way to meet the team is to make plans to attend the Carpenter Center’s annual fundraiser on March 22, 2024. It will be Dinner and an interactive Murder Mystery, “The Million Dollar Murder”. If you would like more information, or would like to purchase tickets, please call (308)635-8422.
