As the new school year gets underway for students across the region this week and next, the financial website WalletHub has come out with a pair of rankings that tout education in Nebraska.
In their study of the best and worst school systems for 2024, our state was ranked 7th overall, but first in existence of digital learning plans, 2nd in percentage of licensed or certified public K-12 teachers, 3rd for median SAT scores and 4th in math test scores.
Nebraska did even better in the website’s 2024 rankings of best and worst early education systems, coming in 3rd in the U.S.
That study ranked our state 9th in total reported spending per child enrolled in preschool, 12th in the income requirement for state pre-k eligibility, and 14th in total state head start funding per child in preschool.
