State revenue officials say Nebraska tax receipts in July came in at $320 million, which was just over one percent higher than the $317 million estimate by the Economic Forecasting Advisory Board last February.

Monday’s report from Tax Commissioner Tony Fulton says revenues were up in three of the four tax categories, with only individual income taxes coming in below the forecast by 8.3 percent.

While the report continued the trend of higher than anticipated net revenue for the state, the size of the excess revenue amount has been decreasing over several months.

Notably, the report saw gross tax receipts of $421 million, .4 percent below the forecast of $423 million, with tax refunds that were nearly five percent lower than anticipated.
