A man with Panhandle ties has been selected as the Vice President candidate by Kamala Harris on the democratic ticket.

Minnesota Governor Tim Walz got the nod this morning after rising to the top of a short list of potential running mates.

Walz is a native of West Point, Nebraska, graduated from Chadron State College, and taught in Alliance for several years before moving to Minnesota.

The 60-year-old was elected as Minnesota’s governor in November of 2018 and re-elected in 2022.
