Motorcyclists Injured Near Mitchell After Pickup Turns Into Bike

Two people suffered serious injuries late Monday morning when their motorcycle collided with a pickup on Highway 26 west of Mitchell.

The Nebraska State Patrol says at about 11:30 a.m., a Toyota pickup was eastbound in the travel lane and attempted to turn north onto County Road 11, and made an improper turn in front of the motorcycle which was in the eastbound passing lane.

The motorcycle occupants were taken from the scene by EMS to Regional West, while the driver of the pickup refused treatment for minor injuries.

The crash remains under investigation. Names in this accident were not released as of Tuesday morning by the NSP.

Scotts Bluff County Sheriff’s deputies , Mitchell Fire and Mitchell Police responded to the scene as well.
