Authorities who were on the lookout for a man for reportedly stabbing a woman yesterday in Morrill say he has been taken into custody.

Police Chief Jay Muller says that Martin Palomo is accused of stabbing the 40-year-old victim, forcing her to seek treatment for non-life-threatening injuries at the Emergency Room.

An arrest warrant charging Palomo with Use of A Weapon to Commit a Felony, Burglary, and other charges had been issued.

Chief Muller says a search warrant was executed at a Gering residence after information was received that Palomo may be at that residence, but he was not located.

Morrill Police say that Palomo was located and taken into custody earlier this afternoon, and he’ll likely make his first appearance on the charges on Friday in Scotts Bluff County Court.

The Morrill Police Department and Scotts Bluff County Sheriff’s Office are investigating the incident and were assisted by the Scottsbluff Police Department, Gering Police Department, Mitchell Police Department, Nebraska State Patrol, Scotts Bluff County Sheriff’s Office Drone Team, Gering Fire Department, Regional West Medical Center Ambulance Service.
