The City of Alliance has a new city councilmember.
During last Tuesday night’s meeting, the council nominated Monte Weisgerber to fill the vacancy left by Mara Andersen.
She stepped down because her husband accepted a new job that will move their family out of state.
Weisgerber was administered the oath of office and was able to officially sit on his first council meeting.
His term will run through the end of the year, where he will then be able to run for the seat to formally be elected.
