A 33-year-old Minatare man is accused of setting fires on the side of the new VA building and causing more than $10,000 in damage.

Court records say Dario Olivas manually shut off the power of the building as he allegedly set fires in the alleyway. Security video caught Olivas on film standing in front of the VA Clinic electrical box.

Staff says that with the power shut off, $12,000 worth of medication was destroyed because it did not stay refrigerated via the power outage.

He’s now facing charges including 3rd Degree Arson and Criminal Mischief More than $5,000, and was arraigned on the charges Wednesday in Scotts Bluff County Court.
