Here’s just a quick rundown on a few things from the area sports scene.
HS basketball broadcast tonight
- Torrington at Gering G/B doubleheader – KNEB.tv platforms (Allo 15, Mobius 1500, Gering STRIV) with pregame starting at approximately 5:15 pm.
– Gering boys have won five straight including a 73-60 win over Alliance last Friday while the Gering girls have lost 11 straight. It’ll be Senior Night at Gering tonight with the Torrington girls coming in at 7-5 while the Blazer boys are 3-9.
Other HS games
- (Girls) Chase County at Bridgeport – The Bulldogs beat Chase County by 33 at the SPVA Tournament 11 days ago and right now Bridgeport is 17-0 sitting no. 2 in Class C-1 power points. It’s girls action only tonight for this one.
- (G/B) Alliance at Chadron – Right now the Alliance girls are 12th in power points with a tough road assignment tonight….both Scottsbluff teams will be at Alliance on Friday.
Cougars on the road
Both WNCC basketball teams are in action tonight at Lamar Community College with the women’s game at 5 pm and the men’s game scheduled for 7 pm.
The Cougars were in Colorado over the weekend also with both teams going 1-1 with wins at Otero and losses at Trinidad State. The Cougars have matching 2-1 South sub-region conference records heading into tonight.
Stull commits to Black Hills State
Scottsbluff senior quarterback Braeden Stull announced on social media on Monday that he’s committed to Black Hills State University.
Stull has been one of the best players in Class B the last two years after transferring in from Bridgeport after his sophomore year. This past season as a senior Stull helped lead the Bearcats to the state semifinals by rushing for 1,122 yards and 18 touchdowns while also throwing for over 900 yards with 8 more passing touchdowns.

- The Sidney at Gering wrestling dual that had been rescheduled for tonight has been officially canceled
