Scotts Bluff County is on the list of 16 Nebraska counties eligible for approved federal aid to help pay for storm damage earlier this year.
Governor Jim Pillen this week announced receipt of funding that can be used by state, tribal and eligible local governments for emergency repair or replacement of facilities damaged by severe storms, tornadoes and flooding from June 20 to July 8.
Related low-interest loans of up to $2 million are also available to certain private non-profit organizations that provide essential services of a governmental nature.
It’s the 4th time this year federal funds have been awarded to the state due to severe weather.
