The Legacy of the Plains Museums has been working on restoring its Stream Tractor for past several years, and this week it was finally completed.

Museum Director Dave Wolf says he’s very excited about this new feature as it is one of the few in the area.

“In in the early 2000’s there was a bunch of kind of accidents for steam tractors, so they put a new rules and regulations to make sure they’re certified,” Wolf tells KNEB News. “So the museum decided to get it completely refurbished, have it completely made safe. And we’ve had Dave Gronk in Torrington has put in countless hours to be able to make this steam tractor usable. And we’re really excited that it will be finished and it’ll be featured tomorrow in the Torrington parade.”

Wolf says the tractor will also be featured at the museum’s annual harvest fest, and there will be live demonstrations throughout the rest of the year.
