The main feature today on KNEB.tv Sports comes from over at Gering where the Bulldogs football team is working through their first week of fall camp practices.
Gering last year finished 2-7 but if you look a little deeper than the record you see a program that had four, one score losses, including a 32-31 home loss to Northwest, plus a 10 point loss where a second half rally fell short at Ogallala.
Gering will feature a quartet of players this year at skill positions that should have them in a position to score points. Quarterback Rece Knight is back for his junior season along with fellow classmate Bo Gable to go along with senior standouts Barron Williams and Creighton Beals.
Can Gering use this run up to the season to find a solid enough offensive line to let the skill kids go to work? That’s the key over the next couple of weeks.
Gering will open at home against Torrington on the 30th.
