Rural Radio Scottsbluff is hosting their annual fundraising barbeque on Friday, but the format will be a little different than in years past.
Promotions Director Kendra Feather says this is a great event that helps to raise money for an amazing cause.
“We are so excited that Camp Scott is happening this year,” says Feather “We’re gonna have the drive through again and are hoping to raise more money than we did last year.”
“And those kids are what this money goes towards- to help for scholarships for those kids to go to camp. And if you get the chance to go to Camp Scott, it’s a pretty moving thing.”
Feather says due to the pandemic, those children didn’t get to go last year and see their friends.
“Our people enjoy it because this is kind of a wind down for us who have been celebrating beef month. It’s usually right before Memorial Day Weekend and so it’s kind of like our ‘hooray’ for everything and the community.”
This year there will be a drive through on the curbside of the KNEB studios on East Portal Place. Cost for each meal is $5 and food will be served starting at 11 a.m.
