The Educational Service Unit #13 is pleased to announce that Jessica Broderick will transition from the role as the Assistant Director of Special Education to the Director of Special Education for the 2022-2023 school year.
Jessica is currently serving ESU 13 as the Assistant Director of Special Education. Over the past nine years, Jessica has served the unit is various roles within the Special Education Department as a SpeechLanguage Pathologist, Secondary Transition Specialist, and Special Education Coordinator. Jessica holds a Bachelor of Science in Education in Communications Disorders, a Master of Science in Education in Speech-Language Pathology, and a Specialist Certificate in Assistive Technology. She also received her Master of Arts in Education in Supervision of Special Education from the University of Nebraska Kearney in 2020.
“We are thrilled to have Jessica lead our ESU 13 Special Education Team. She has a variety of experiences that will provide high-quality leadership and support in our school community,” shares ESU 13 Administrator, Dr. Laura Barrett.
“It has been a privilege to be a part of ESU 13’s Special Education Department for the last nine years. I have seen first-hand so many of the amazing services and supports offered to students in the panhandle, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to continue to work with both ESU 13 staff and member districts in this role,” says Jessica.
Educational Service Unit 13’s Special Education Department serves students through special education and 504 processes. In addition to direct services to students, the Special Education Department also provides support and training to teachers, districts, and families.
