The slate appears to have been set for U.S. House and Senate races for the November general election, with the Republican incumbents easily out-distancing challengers.

In the race for the six-year term for the senior Senate seat held by Republican Deb Fischer, she had garnered just under 80 percent of votes for the Republican nomination, and will face Kerry Eddy of the Legal Marijuana Now party. Dan Osborn is also making a bid for Fischer’s seat as an independent.

Junior U.S. Senator Pete Ricketts had just over 79 percent of the votes cast for the Republican nomination for his seat, and will face Democrat Preston Love Jr. in November to serve a two-year term.

The slate is set for the race for the Third Congressional District, as incumbent Adrian Smith picked up support of more than 74 percent of Republicans for the GOP nomination, and will apparently face Democrat Daniel Ebers of Lincoln, who led David Else of Overton 53 to 47 percent.

Republicans Don Bacon and Mike Flood easily outdistanced their opponents Tuesday night, setting up what could be tough contests for one or both. Bacon will square off against Democrat Tony Vargas in the Second Congressional District, while Flood will face Democrat Carol Blood in the District 1 race. Both Blood and Vargas were unopposed for their respective party nominations.
