Tens of thousands of dollars was raised Friday night at the Gering Civic Center to help two local non-profit agencies.
Leadership Scotts Bluff Class 33 hosted the annual Hoops 4 Heroes fundraiser, with this year’s benefactors including Kyle’s Day Foundation and Life Change Connection.
Attendees were able to enjoy March Madness games on the big screens, all while playing in a cornhole tournament and bidding on silent auction items.
Ryan Goechel, the President of Kyle’s Day Foundation says their mission is promoting peer support for first responders, law enforcement and dispatchers.
Final totals of money raised from this event are still being calculated, but a check presentation will occur sometime this spring.
