There was plenty of action on the diamond on Tuesday and we had two broadcasts on the RRN-Scottsbluff.
Gering picks up 18th win
After missing out on games this past weekend in North Platte due to poor field conditions (rain) the Gering softball won on the road Tuesday, beating Chadron 10-4.
Sarah Wiese threw a complete game for the win allowing just two earned runs while striking out nine and walking just one.
Jacelyn Brown and Rylee Luce both had three hit nights and combined to score six runs while driving in a combined four on the night.
With the win Gering improved to 18-2 on the season and they’ll be at the Ogallala Quad on Thursday.
Scottsbluff wins on Senior Night
Scottsbluff captured a Tuesday night home win on Senior Night over Alliance by the final of 11-3 in five innings.
The Bearcats scored seven runs in the third inning to take control.
Tatum Heimerman and Mercedes Thrash both had two hit, two RBI nights while Aleigh Portenier was on base three times scoring three runs.
Loural McCoy earned the win in the circle while Heimerman picked the save.
Hannah Schneider had a three hit game in the loss for Alliance.
Scottsbluff is now 13-9 and they’ll also head to the Ogallala Quad tomorrow.
