Just a little catch up from Friday night with the first full Friday night of the high school football season. In Rural Radio Network-Scottsbluff games it was a pair of wins for Scottsbluff and Gering.
For Scottsbluff a long road trip for a opening night win over Lincoln Pius X, a fellow state ranked foe, by the final of 26-6.
Sebastien Boyle (130) and Braden Stull (86) combined to run for 216 yards and three touchdowns to lead the way for the Bearcats offensively. The Cats put up a total of 357 yards compared to just 170 for Pius, who didn’t score until late in the fourth quarter.
Scottsbluff will play at home Friday against North Platte.
Gering opened the season with a convincing home win over the Torrington Trailblazers, 46-19. Gering has now won back to back season openers against Torrington.
Tanner Gartner finished with over 200 totals yards, including a 90 yard kickoff return and 104 yards rushing with another 15 yards receiving.
The Bulldogs will head to play at Chadron on Friday.
