Holdrege FFA President Charli Wells is hoping to share about various opportunities in agriculture with her school, community and beyond.
“A lot of people think that it’s literally just cows and plows, but it is so much more than that,” Wells said.
Wells, a senior, said it’s her goal to get more people involved in the organization by educating them about diversity in the agriculture industry.
“My goal would be to let people know that FFA is not just for farmers,” she said.
Wells pointed to various competitions that students can participate in through FFA, including natural resources, food science and welding. She said those can lead to career paths outside of traditional agriculture.
Wells has aspirations to be an equine veterinarian and enjoys vet science curriculum and competitions.
