 Extreme Weather Shelter Activated in Scottsbluff

The call has been made to activate an Extreme Weather Shelter due to the level of individuals without access to air conditioning or shelter.

Scottsbluff’s Lakota Lutheran Center & Chapel had already made the decision to remain open for this community of people, and Region 22 Emergency Management has worked with Pastor Day to provide the resources they would need to sustain being opened until Sunday ).

Lakota Lutheran Center & Chapel

1200 E Overland

Scottsbluff, NE

Open Saturday and Sunday from 1 P.M. – 5 P.M.

The need for water, food, and hygiene items were met quickly by members of the Panhandle COAD and members of the public. Director Ashley Hopkins commends the community for coming together Friday to make a potentially dangerous situation safer.
