The Gering boys cross country team had a big showing on Thursday as they placed second at the B-4 District meet in Overton, qualifying for the State meet as a team with four runners inside the top 15.
Axton Stone for the Bulldogs finished second with Nate Seiler in eighth place. Also with top 15 finishes were Bryce Carrillo and Aiden Bell.
Scottsbluff got one runner through with Bryce Wemhoff finishing in 12th place.
The B-3 race featured Trevor Zurn (3rd) and Asher Saka (12th) qualifying for Alliance.
On the girls side in Class B there was just one competitor qualifying for State next week as Scottsbluff’s Hannah Hertzler came in 14th place.
Class C competition featured the Sidney girls team qualifying in third place while Bridgeport’s Kyra Robbins finished sixth to qualify for the State meet next week.
Class D doesn’t have everything posted as of this writing.
