The Nebraska Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association has named Scottsbluff Activities Director, Dave Hoxworth, as their 2023-2024 Athletic Director of the Year.

Hoxworth has spent 30 years with Scottsbluff Schools serving in many different roles from teaching elementary and middle school physical education, to serving as the Dean of Students/Assistant Activities Director at Bluffs Middle School, and now he’s in his 10th year as Scottsbluff High School Activities Director.

Mr. Hoxworth also has a 17 year coaching resume at Scottsbluff encompassing football and both boys’ and girls’ basketball.

In true Dave Hoxworth fashion, he says this is a Scottsbluff High School award

Hoxworth has been a member of the NSIAAA for 13 years and has served as the District 6 Board Representative since 2020.

Some of the things Hoxworth is most proud of or takes the most pride in include the region hosting State Golf in recent years with the collaboration between Scottsbluff and Gering, starting the Scottsbluff Athletic Hall of Fame this past fall and also hosting what he calls a “great event” for teams and schools that have to travel west.

The full TV feature on Mr. Hoxworth winning the NSIAAA Athletic Director of the Year Award will air next Monday, 3/18, on KNEB.tv.
