Personnel matters were among the subjects considered by the Western Community College Area Board of Governors during their monthly meeting in Alliance this week.
One of those was an evaluation of WNCC President Greg Dart, which was held in a closed session Wednesday afternoon.
After about an hour and 15 minutes of discussion, the Board returned to open session with member Lynne Klemke reading a related motion to extend Dart’s contract one year to 2026, and increase the value of his total compensation package by three percent.
The motion passed unanimously.
Before that action, the Board said goodbye to a number of staff members, including Alliance Campus Director Allie Tyree.
Tyree is stepping down July 15 after her husband accepted a position out of state, and Dart told the Board her absence will be felt. “She thinks she wants to live by her husband… And as much as she loves all of you. decided that that was more important than for some reason,” said Dart, to the laughter of the board members. “I just want to really highlight the amazing work that she’s done on this campus, and what she’s done to move this campus forward and how much we’re going to miss her.”
