Colorado man dies from car vs motorcycle crash in Scottsbluff

Authorities say a Colorado man died from injuries sustained in a crash between his motorcycle and a car in Scottsbluff Saturday night.

Scottsbluff Police were called to a the intersection of 23rd Street and Broadway just before 9:45 p.m., with the investigation finding a 2008 Mazda driven by 23-year-old Angelina Palomo of Scottsblulff, and a 2010 Honda motorcycle driven by 43-year-old Levi Queen of Loveland, were involved in the accident.

In a release, investigators say witnesses said the northbound motorcycle was traveling an estimated 60 mph or more on Broadway when it collided with the southbound Mazda that was making a left turn at the intersection with 23rd Street.

Queen was transported to Regional West Medical Center by Valley Ambulance, but succumbed to his injuries.

Palomo was issued a citation for Driving Under Suspension, and the Scotts Bluff Co. Sheriff’s Department was requested for accident reconstruction.

Speed and helmet use are being further investigated as factors in the accident. Broadway between 24th ST and 22nd ST was closed for approximately 4 hours while the investigation was completed.

Scotts Bluff Sheriff’s Department, Valley Ambulance, and Scottsbluff Fire Department assisted in the call.
