Here’s a quick rundown of the day one action at the Scotts Bluff Country Club for the Girls Class B State Golf Tournament.

Scottsbluff’s Nielli Heinold shot an opening round 77 (+5) and is currently tied for second place with two other golfers and sitting just one shot off the lead.

Kiera Paquette of Beatrice shot 76 (+4) and leads by one shot over Heinold, Whitney Dahir of Duchesne Academy, and Elkhorn North’s Julia Karmazin.

Scottsbluff was a combined +65 in the team standings with the Bearcats trailing Elkhorn North by just two shots and they’re currently 16 shots back of Duchesne Academy (+49).

Scottsbluff’s Caitlyn Lewis shot 88 (+16) and is currently T13th. Other scores for Scottsbluff on day one were Addie Peck at 92 (+20), Olivia Wharton 96 (+24) and Elliot Selzer 107 (+35).

Gering’s lone player in the fied, McKenna Bowron, finished day one shooting 96 (+24) and is currently tied for 26th place.

Sidney’s Claire Jordan shot 91 (+19).

Class C

In North Platte it was Mitchell’s Kaidyn Patterson shooting a day one round of 100 (+28), good for a tie for 48th place.

Chadron’s Taegan Bach shot 98 (+26) and is currently tied for 42nd place.
