A Dawes County Jury has found a 27-year-old Chadron man guilty of Intentional Child Abuse Resulting in Death.

Riley Lenhart was taken into custody in June of 2022 after his 10 month old daughter was found unresponsive and later pronounced deceased.

The four day trial concluded Thursday afternoon, with the jury having options to determine if Lenhart was guilty of Intentional Child Abuse resulting in Death, Negligent Child Abuse resulting in Death, Manslaughter, or Not Guilty.

The 12 jurors found Lenhart guilty of the most serious of the charges, a Class 1B Felony that carries a minimum of 20 years in prison.

Sentencing is set for Monday, December 4th, which will occur before District Judge Travis O’Gorman.
