A Scottsbluff businessman arrested in January as part of a sex-trafficking investigation has learned his fate after he accepted a plea deal earlier this year.
In September, Jeffrey Calder pleaded no contest to amended charges of Solicitation of Prostitution, two counts of Attempted Possession of a Short Shotgun and False Reporting, all Class 1 misdemeanors.
In the agreement, Calder would not be required to register as a sex offender, and he agreed to testify in the State’s sex-trafficking and forcible sexual assault case against James “Jimmy” Gutierrez.
Calder was sentenced to a total of 180 days in jail plus $2,500 in fines on Tuesday morning in Scotts Bluff County District Court.
