The principal of Bluffs Middle School Saturday issued a letter advising parents and students of the passing of one of their classmates.
In the letter, Principal Jana Mason said 6th grader Aylin Portillo Peinado had died Friday from injuries suffered in a motor vehicle crash. Authorities say a vehicle she was travelling in on I-25 in Wyoming slipped on ice, left the roadway and rolled.
Mason says the Crisis Response Team and staff have made plans to respond to the emotional needs of students, and additional counseling service and support would be provided as long as needed.
