A Scottsbluff man convicted on charges from a series of alleged sexual assaults of a six-year-old girl has been sentenced.
Late last year, a Scotts Bluff County District Court Jury convicted 40-year-old Christopher Matthews of Third Degree Sexual Assault of a Child, and Intentional Child Abuse without injury.
Following a competency evaluation, Matthews was sentenced last month to three years in prison on each count, the maximum penalty under state law. Once released from prison, Matthews will be on lifetime Parole Supervision and a Registered Sex Offender.
