A 21-year-old Scottsbluff man arrested for having sexual relations with his 14-year-old girlfriend has been sentenced.
Duane Bauer was arrested in May following an investigation by the Gering Police Department. During interviews, Bauer admitted to engaging in sexual acts with the girl but denied having sex with the teen.
Bauer was charged with First Degree Sexual Assault of a Minor and Third Degree Sexual Assault of a child, and ended up pleading guilty to the latter charge.
On Friday in District Court, Judge Andrea Miller sentenced Bauer to 24 months in jail and ordered him to register as a sex offender.
