A 27-year-old Sterling, Colorado man is behind bars in Cheyenne County following investigation of recent burglaries in the rural Gurley and Dalton areas.

Sheriff Adam Frerichs says Robert Lester Jr was arrested Thursday on two counts of burglary, and one count each of possession of a deadly weapon by a prohibited person and possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine.

Frerichs says evidence and information in the case was retrieved from Kimball County authorities Wednesday, which led to search warrants executed Thursday on two residences and one storage unit, all in Sidney.

He says several stolen items were recovered, as well as narcotics, and several other suspects will be sought for the burglaries in Cheyenne County, as well as crimes in Kimball County.
