An Alliance man has been sentenced to two plus decades in prison after a Scotts Bluff County jury convicted him on drug charges last month.

50-year-old Johnathan Bourquin was arrested in August after leaving 157 grams of methamphetamine in the back of a cruiser while he was being transported to jail.

In March, he stood trial on charges of Possession of Meth with Intent to Distribute, No Drug Tax Stamp, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

The jury found him guilty on all counts, On Thursday, Judge Andrea Miller sentenced Bourquin a total of 20 to 21 years in prison, but he did receive credit for 21 days already served. If he does not lose any good time, Bourquin could be released in just over a decade.
