Residents and visitors in Alliance will have one less way to get around town.

This week, the electric Scooter provider ‘Bird‘ informed city officials that they are terminating their contract with the Box Butte County community.

The company said as they looked at their 2024 planning, there was a prioriritztion on sustaining and expanding services in cities that met the needs of Bird’s partners, riders and investors.

Kylee Floodman with Bird said unfortantely, they did not see an immediate path to support those requirements with the City of Alliance.

Floodman noted that they hope they can return to the region once the macroeconomic environment recovers.
