Alcohol Compliance Checks Held in Box Butte County

Investigators with the Nebraska State Patrol have conducted alcohol compliance checks in Box Butte County, with a nearly perfect compliance rate.

During the afternoon and evening hours on Saturday March 9, 2024, investigators conducted alcohol compliance checks in Box Butte County. This project was supported by grant #1848 form the Panhandle Public Health District.

In total, 24 businesses were checked. One of those businesses sold alcohol to a minor for a compliance rate of 95.8%. The business checked the minor’s identification before sale.

The Business that failed the compliance check was:

Safeway 549 – Alliance

The businesses included convivence stores, grocery stores, restaurants, liquor stores and bars.

Businesses that sell alcohol to minors are referred to the Nebraska Liquor Control Commission. Clerks who sell alcohol to minors are cited for procuring alcohol for a minor.
