2024 Festival of Hope Set for Saturday
June 13th, 2024 | Dave Strang

The annual Festival of Hope will be taking place this Saturday morning at the Scotts Bluff County Fairgrounds in Mitchell.

Dr. Vince Bjorling tells KNEB News with all activities taking place in the morning, it will be filled with activities, including the 5k non-competitive walk/run, auctions, and butterfly release.

Funds raised during the event help assist cancer patients with non-medical expenses during their treatment process.

He says they are often not working a 40 hour week because of time spent in the clinic getting treatments, or a lot of times their support people are there with them, and not getting in a full work week. FOH helps step in to bridge the gap resulting from those lost wages.

Registration for the 5k walk/run begins at 6:30 a.m. Saturday, the silent auction starts at 7 a.m. and the Knights of Columbus Breakfast starts at 7:30 a.m.

The Festival of Hope is a grass roots fundraising event organized by volunteers committed to assist area cancer patients with non-medical expenses during their treatment process.
