10-25 Year Prison Sentence Ordered for Alliance Drug Dealer

An Alliance drug dealer has been sentenced to a lengthy prison term following several meth related convictions.

In two sepearate Scotts Bluff County Court cases, 35-year-old Rueben Mendez pleaded no contest to two counts of Possession of Meth (28-139 grams) and one count of Delivery of an Exceptionally Hazardous Drug.

Mendez was the target of a WING Drug Task Force Investigation, we he was sold 4 ounces to one pound of meth to a CI over the course of four controlled buys. In that case, he was sentenced to 5 to 15 years in prison on the two convictions.

In the other case, officers observed him get out of the car several times throughout Scotts Bluff County, where it was discovered he was dropping bags of methamphetamine.

In that case, an additional 5 to 10 year prison sentence was tacked on, which will run consecutive to the first sentencing. In total, it will be a 10 to 25 year prison sentence.
