William Robert (Bob) Doering, 81, of Scottsbluff, Nebraska, passed away on August 4, 2024, in Ft. Collins, Colorado, at Columbine Centre Ave Care and Rehab. Cremation was chosen per his wishes.
Born on November 3, 1942, to Mildred M. (Case) and William A. Doering in Sheboygan, WI. Bob lived a life of service, love, and dedication. After graduating from Scottsbluff Senior High in 1960, Bob proudly served his country in the United States Navy from October 1962 to August 1966, including during the Vietnam War. After his service, he married the love of his life, Linda (Lynn) Sue (Hochhalter), on October 19, 1966. Together, they built a beautiful family and a successful business.
Bob and Lynn were blessed with two daughters, Rochelle (Shelly) and Bobbi Sue. They owned and operated Doering’s Store of Finer Fashions, a cherished family business started by his mother and Aunt Ruth that spanned nearly 40 years. Bob’s unwavering faith in God and his profound love for his family were the foundation of his life. As a dedicated husband, father, and grandfather, he took great pride in his family’s accomplishments. His passion for his country and his service in the Navy were also significant sources of pride for him.
Bob is survived by his beloved wife of 57 Years Lynn; daughters Rochelle (Shelly) Branch of McCook, NE, and Bobbi Sue Doering of Scottsbluff, NE; sisters Donna Lewis of Great Falls, MT, and Janet Johnson of Scottsbluff, NE; granddaughter Delaney Powell of Casper, WY; and many other relatives and close friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his aunt, Ruth Case; his in-laws, Ida and Helmuth Hochhalter; his sister, Kay Ellen Robinson; and his brothers-in-law, Milton Johnson, Jack Lewis, and Bilse Robinson.
