Tracy L (Snell) Oehlerking, 57 of Gering, Nebraska passed away Friday, December 1, 2023 surrounded with love with her family by her side at the Residency Care Center in Scottsbluff. She lost her battle to a long hard fight with cancer.
An informal gathering of family and friends will be Saturday, December 16, 2023 from 3-5 pm at the Lofing Home, 110341 County Road 26, Scottsbluff. At her request, cremation has taken place. Tracy was born on July 23, 1966 in Las Vegas, Nevada to Marvin and Mary Lou (Spatz) Snell. She attended school in Scottsbluff, graduating from Scottsbluff High School in 1984. She attended School of Hair Design in Lincoln, Nebraska and began her career as a Barber/Hairstylist for 25+ years.
She married Tim Oehlerking at a ceremony in Jamaica, which has been her very favorite destination place. Many years later, they divorced.
Most recently she began employment at the University of Nebraska in Lincoln.
Tracy moved back to Scottsbluff in September to be closer to her family.
Tracy loved her Huskers and especially loved her cats CG and Neala.
Survivors include her mother Mary Lou Snell of Scottsbluff; siblings Chris (Dave) Dill of Gering, Reed Snell of Oro Valley, AZ, Scott (Vik) Snell of Loveland, CO, Lisa (Mike) Lofing of Scottsbluff, Laurie Adams of Arvada, CO and Rodney Snell of Portland, OR; numerous nieces and nephews and her longtime friend from Lincoln, Jan Dill who helped her immensely during this trial.
She was preceded in death by her father Marvin, maternal and paternal grandparents and great niece Annastasia.
